It's the heaviest part of my soul.

Tahoe-A-GoGo

Recently, I spent an "Oh, that is sooo Northern California," weekend at Lake Tahoe.

As I get older, and more set in my city ways, I shy away from pursuits that can be described as "rustic", "pastoral", "bucolic", and anything in the general "camp" family. Such an attitude will not make you many friends in this part of the country, so I sucked it up and headed over to Nordstrom's, where I bought some shoes with elastic straps, plastic buckles and a silly granola sounding name (kashu, anuh, kanu?).

Little did I know, Lake Tahoe is a far cry from the many lake "resorts" I grew up visiting in Wisconsin. Not only is Lake Tahoe full of jaw dropping nature, it also caters to spoiled pansies like myself who earned herself a Girl Scout badge in the fourth grade for spending a night at the Marriott.

This is my kind of hiking: on pavement.

Lake Tahoe is over a mile above sea level. This elevation makes the water look reallllly blue...

Beautiful,

Gorgeous,

Wish you were here.

This is my kind of camping: hot tub, flat screen and A/C.

Even Dryfus got his nature on.

And soaked in the view.
